  • a The two alleles of ERG11, TAC1, and UPC2 in strain SC5314 were distinguished by HindIII, SpeI, and EcoRI restriction site polymorphisms, respectively. The ERG11 allele with the HindIII site at position +347 (on Chr5B) was arbitrarily designated ERG11-2 (42), the TAC1 allele with the downstream SpeI site at position +4411 (on Chr5B) was designated TAC1-2 (60), and the UPC2 allele with the EcoRI site at position +1593 (on Chr1A) was designated UPC2-2 (31).
